About Me

We have been owned by working cockers for 12 years now.

We soon came to realise what genuine little dogs the working cockers are and have been hooked ever since.

Hello Jacqui
Hope you are all enjoying the "summer", we've just had a long weekend at Clumber Park with Ollie and Chip. Chip really enjoys the caravan and especially all the extra walks he gets, we.ve now got him a canvas crate for holidays (a lot lighter for the caravan) which he seems to like - he hasn't tried to chew it yet!
On Friday and Saturday night there were two National Trust concerts (which we didn't know were on) the Friday night concert ended with a fire work display which terrified Chip, he jumped on our laps and cuddled up as tight as he could. Is there anything we can do to help calm him as the fireworks start in October around us (we kept telling him "you're a gun dog",but it was his first experience of fireworks and they were exceptionally loud.
He has cut all his adult teeth now - thank goodness. His coat is a bit a mess at the moment he has his lovely dark coat along his back then along his sides its a lighter colour and fluffy, he's not overkeen on brushing he's a bit of a "fidget". We're amazed he hasn't injured his tail the way he wags it,, and it hurts if you're standing the wrong end.
His training is coming on slowly, he's now in his third week of bronze. The biggest promlem is pulling, we've tried all the different ways of stopping him, yet walking between us he brilliant he keeps to heel whatever pace we are going. Any suggestions - we've thought about a head collar but we've never used one before. Sorry to bombard you with questions but its the first time I've had a chance for ages to use the computer.

Chip is being exactly the same as Hana with his feeds he finishes all his breakfast and evening feeds, but leaves some of his two middle feeds. Tried the lead today that was fun! Still doing well at night, and only the odd accident which when it happens is more our fault than his.

I seem to be making a bit of a mess sending messages, I've just sent one to Caroline but I think I replied in the wrong place.

Hello,

Luckily Oliver isn't with me today so I have a nice calm day, preparing crates and sorting things out for tomorrow.

See you soon.

Jackie
