Over the last 12 years we have favoured holiday-ing in the UK, which has meant we are able to take our dogs with us and enjoy one of our passions of walking and Geocaching. We have also in recent years had to ensure our children will enjoy our holiday destinations, so we are delighted to say all our destinations double up as dog and family friendly. We thought we would share some of the fab places we have been to with you, again we would welcome your input so please email us with places you have really enjoyed.
Porlock
This has to be our number one destination, time and time again we go back and everytime is as magical and amazing as the first. I think it has something to do with being very like St Lucia - where we got married, in terms of terrain, could even be as hot on a good day! Where do we start, we have stayed in various venues, Porlock Caravan Park and rented a fantastic cottage, this is our preference, (if anyone would like the details of Halsecombe, please email) and the famous Ship Inn.

The pubs are all dog friendly, with water bowls on hand and allowing your pooch to sit at the table with you. There is Antlers the local pet supplier, if you run out of dog food whilst you are staying, they will get your food in if it is not a normally stocked brand!
Day trips to Tarr Steps, Dunster Beach, Walking Porlock Hill and Porlock Weir are just a few days out.

Padstow
Made famous, of course by Rick Stein, now a well recognised TV chef, I am fortunate enough to have stayed in his Seafood Restaurant and been in for a tour of the kitchens, my Step-Father and Rick were at school together.

Padstow has so much to offer it is alive and very cosmoploitan in the hub of the village, yet when you get going along the costal path the views are breath taking and the sea air, you forget where you are and in no time a days walking is over and you are heading for the pub, or for the more deserning to one of Rick's premises.
Again all very dog friendly, even the Seafood Restaurants' rooms!
For days out there is Prideaux Place, the ferry to Rock and a little further a field to The Eden Project.
Lyme Regis
This is a super English beach holiday, of course dog friendly. The RNLI life Boat Team do demonstrations during the summer, the beach shops sell everything you could want and more, beautiful sandy beaches, not forgetting mini golf - one of my favourites!
We stayed in the Alexandra Hotel, which is just at the top of all the activities and looks down over the bay.

For the days when you dont want to be on the beach or walking, Monkey World is a great day out. If you dont mind a not so sandy beach but would like somewhere quieter, then Charmouth Beach has some fantastic walks and is a all year round dog friendly beach.
