Risingmist puppies are bred first and foremost for sound temperament, and working ability, whether that be for gundog working homes, agility, flyball or active pet homes.

We breed quality home reared puppies, that will settle easily into their new homes and who will grow into happy, well adjusted dogs, who will give a lifetime of pleasure, joy and companionship, given the right training and guidance from their new families.

We make use of health screening schemes, for our particular breed cocker spaniels they are as follows;

 Eye testing

General Progressive Retinal Atrophy (GPRA)

Centralised Progressive Retinal Atrophy (CPRA)

Gonioscopy (predisposition to Glaucoma)

Hip scoring

(breed mean 14)

DNA Testing

Progressive Rod-cone Degeneration (prcd_PRA)

Familial Nephropathy (FN)

All of which will help prospective new owners to predict the future health of their puppy. 

We will ensure the puppy is seen with its mother and in our case the father is available too, to give an indication of how the puppy is likely to turn out.

As a responsible breeder we are prepared to answer your questions about the breed. 

We will also give new owners written information regarding the socialisation and training of their puppy and we will be there as a point of contact throughout your puppy’s life to ensure that you and your puppy have a happy and fulfilling relationship.
